As I read the Tech Rights article "East Texas and Its Cautionary Tale: Software Patents Lead to Patent Trolls," wherein Dr. Schestowitz asserts that it is better to avoid protection of software through the patent system, as the EPO does, rather than risk patent trolling, several ideas caught my eye and I was compelled to write on the topic.
